Harry says goodbye.

I have been doing this for a long time now, it seems like a life time.

So i have made a decision to stop, to give it up, do it no more.

It’s been a very hard one for me to make one of the hardest, i have tried before but failed on quite a few occasions.

So now i have decided enough is enough, to do my utmost to call it a day not only for me but also my wife.

Sorry, i may have mislead you i’m not talking about stopping blogging.

I’m talking about stopping smoking.

I have smoked for 54 years from the age of 13 and i know all the things that’s wrong with it. But it’s hard very hard to stop.

Non-smokers do not understand what a smoker goes through when they try to kick the habit, i might fail but i’ll give it a try.

So you will still have the pain of me blogging, in-between pulling my hair out and kicking the cat.

Did i catch you all out again, yes i thought so.

  1. good luck..;)

  2. I know what it’s like to quit. I started smoking at 11 years old and quit cold turkey when I was 25. Take one moment at a time.

  3. Ooh you sneaky sneaky man! Please don’t do that again, well unless you really decide to, it’s bad for my heart. I hope you go through with stopping. My granda had began once but I put my foot down.

  4. Harry… are you trying to kill me?! I was all prepared to protest about you quitting the blog, but thank goodness it’s the smoking you’re giving up. You’re right. As a non-smoker, I won’t understand your struggle, but I have every confidence you’ll do it this time, because you really want to. And you love your wife.

  5. Yes you did!!! I came over alll hot and bothered!l
Well good luck, I do hope you succed in your endeavour. Keep us posted! 🙂

  6. Congratulations Harry…. may you muster all the strength possible to achieve your goal 😉

  7. Ooooh! I DID think you meant blogging. Don’t do that to me, Harry. 😳 Hmmm, I’ve been smoking since I was 13 so that’s quite a long time. Good luck and I hope you DON’T kick the cat. 😉

  8. Bravo for quitting again. I hear a lot of people quit…and quit and quit. Hope it takes this time for your heath and your for longevity in the blogging world.

  9. You are very naughty Harry! I thought the worst, but glad to be proven wrong!
My hubby tried to quit smoking umpteen times before he succeeded – it’s been six years now, and he’s never felt better. The best advice I can give you is to never give up – you will do it eventually.

  10. Good luck, Harry! 13 and 52 for me. Let us know how you’re making out. Hoping to follow you on your journey.

  11. Well done Harry! I gave up smoking 3 years ago – hard but worth it!

  12. Good decision, Harry. Stick to it. My dad smoked for over sixty years and it caught up with him. He had emphysema and heart trouble. The latter eventually killed him. Please don’t go that route.

    Okay, done preaching!

  13. I’ve thought of quitting too. Been clean for 11 days now. 🙂 Let’s do this, Harry! 🙂

PS. And I really thought your post is about blogging! You made me nervous!!

  14. Good luck with the non smoking 🙂

  15. Will power ! ! ! hang in there !

  16. I have faith in you, Harry. You can do it this time. you’ve got all the support you could need from caring bloggers. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

  17. Yes you devil you caught me out! Good luck with giving up!

  18. BE A QUITTER! You’ll never regret it. Giving up my cigarette habit for good is one of my life’s biggest accomplishements. It won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth it! Good for you!

  19. It is hard. I don’t care what anyone says…if someone tells you they “never want a cigarette” after quitting for however long…they are lying. I think that craving is always there. Sometimes more than others. The bottom line is you have to want to do it, to do it. Good luck to you and keep us posted.

  20. You had me going there! Good luck to you! My husband quit because he had to when he was in the hospital. He started up again… Until I caught him!!! Lol! Hopefully it sticks this time! I think you’ll be able to do it too!

  21. What a cunning plan it was! Ha ha! Good luck quitting! You can do it!

  22. Omg for a moment I really thought… Oh lol! You caught me indeed…

  23. Hows it going Harry? I actually managed four months once before I fell into the usual habits, I used the old, “relationship troubles drove me to it”. I’ll probs give it another go at some point but it’s just so much fun.
