Woman stoned to death for marrying man she loved.

type102A pregnant woman has been stoned to death by her own family in front of a Pakistani high court – for marrying the man she loved.

Nearly 20 members of the woman’s family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband with batons and bricks in broad daylight.

Farzana Parveen, who was three months pregnant, was killed before a crowd of onlookers in front of the high court of Lahore, police have reported.

Her father had filed an abduction case against her husband, which the couple was contesting, her lawyer Mustafa Kharal said.

Arranged marriages are considered normal among conservative Pakistanis, who view marriage for love as a transgression

Kharal said Parveen’s relatives waited outside the court, which is located on a main downtown thoroughfare.

As the couple walked up to the court’s main gate, the family members fired shots in the air and tried to snatch her from Iqbal, he said.

When she resisted, her father, brothers and other relatives started beating her, eventually pelting her with bricks from a nearby construction site, Iqbal said.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, a private organisation, said in a report last month that some 869 women were murdered in so-called honour killings in 2013.

But the Pakistani rights group, The Aurat Foundation, has said the figure could be closer to a thousand and some estimate the true number could be higher still.

Campaigners say few cases come to court, and those that do can take years to be heard.

Even those that do result in a conviction may end with the killers walking free. Pakistani law allows a victim’s family to forgive their killer.

These people will walk free as hundreds have done before them.

  1. ASDFHHJQW!@#$%FEDHY ! ! !
A similar thing happened in Canada, involving the same nationality and religion. I know it;s wrong to generalize and be prejudicial, but I can’t help it.

  2. Thanks Ren, the woman in the post two down i think she will be killed as well, she is due in court soon.

  3. Absolute barbarism [I think that is the right spelling ] disgusting these idiots should be done for murder and related crimes. 😉

  4. And this is what century? Well….. I hope their God whoever he is, is proud of these murderers. It certainly isnt the same fella I pray to that’s for sure.

  5. Like Christianity we’re often lumbered with someone else’s interpretation of any holy books. Militanism in religion is rife everywhere sadly. Why they call em fundamentalists beats me as their actions & teachings fundamentally different from their religious tomes. Like our own wee corner of the world “God’s word” is warped & used for other ulterior motives & agendas that have nothing to do with adhering to religion. Think the bannin of burkha & other face covering costumes here in France has liberated the women some. Lovely French girl next door converted to marry her Arab boyfriend, who refused parents wishes for arranged marriage. Lovely couple, who’d bend over backwards to help you, & always give a gift out of proportion of any little obligement we do them. There is hope yet for integration, but the old obsessive overcontrolling generation & their followers, who literally set themselves up as judge jury & executioners, need to be cleared out, before, 2 way racism/secretarianism can start to be seriously addressed. Honour killings my arse – it’s clearly dishonour killings in anybody but a deluded idiot’s eyes.

  6. They dishonour their religion and the Koran.

Thought you might like this i visit it a lot.

  7. This is utter nonsense.Religion never said to kill anybody just because they don’t follow the way you follow it. Some strict action is needed against these shit people.

  8. what gets me is they( Muslims) come to the UK for a better way of life and yet still hang on to the old ways, then they expect for us to turn cartwheels for them. The Britist government should start with something like “you are welcome here but you must abide our Christian rules /laws “
