I have been around long enough to know that the weather in Briton and around the world has got worse, especially over this last ten years. When i was young ( eon’s ago ) summer was summer and winter was winter and you could depend on it. Snow, frost, fog, rain in the winter and long clear hot days in the summer. Now you would not know if it’s summer or winter.
We get about two or three weeks sun in the summer and that’s it over, before and after it’s rain, floods and disaster.
Don’t tell me there’s no such thing as global warming or something happening to the world’s weather pattern’s. All over the world it has changed.
America and Canada getting their worst winter weather for years while in another part they are having their longest drought. Australia is getting hotter and having their worst fires ever. Floods all over the world even in places that never had any.
Briton has been hit by the worst storms ever since October 2013 flooding many areas of land, towns and cities, the really bad weather started two weeks before Christmas and has just stopped in some parts. Many country areas have been under water ( up to six feet ) and the water will not go away.
This weather all over the world must have something to do with global warming altering the gulf stream, which, during the wither double its speed to 200 MPH altering all the weather patterns around the world.
This week 20th March 2014 parts of America have been hit by an ice / snow storm, is that normal, something’s wrong.
I was only talking about this to my daughter the other day.. and I think most people would agree about global warming and how modern living is affecting the weather… Nice talking point or arguing point. 😉 ps: Harry you asked about my recent poems, and yes if you wish them.
Yesterday, they found four new chemicals which are destroying the ozone layer so its never going to end, until we are all burnt by the sun.
Thank Gerry.
Very scary Harry.
Be scared 🙂 but we won’t live long enough to see it really bad.
I agree. Naysayers won’t be able to deny climate change for much longer.
I can’t see how anyone can deny it.
Oh but they will Harry…deny, deny, deny, because there are people out there who they will sway just because they keep saying it.
Most of the people who deny it are American scientists who are tried up with big business or people who are making money from it.
I voted btw.
Umpteen deniers of global warming & climate change Harry, & the usual unusual conspiracy theorists. It’s happening, weather it’s man made or natural cycles. I remember as a kid it snowed in June once in Northern Ireland. Like summer ere in northern France now, & they say it’s close to breaking records. Also warnings of high particulates in air towards weekend. So warm here out of blue last few days lie summer back in Norn Irn. Chilly in mornings still but heats up quick. Still waitin me cheque from French tourist board for pics been sendin to Pinterest, & from N I Tourist Board for others of the aul sod. Hope you enjoyin the sun there too Harry. Course brings out the young bucks drinkin & bein a pain, but , can enjoy a bit of peace in between. Here where i live i’m next to tram line & it’s young bucks on scooters rakin up & down tramway, with noisy wrecks of bikes. Enjoy the early spring Harry – probably snow in a week or two knowin Ulster weather – that’s why here reminds me of the aul sod, as weather so different to rest of Frogland.
We have had three months of rain like the rest of GB but its to be sunny up to the weekend, then maybe snow 🙂 We have no trouble up here with young ones drinking etc, very lucky, enjoy the sun.
Too bad the bad weather already got the Spanish Armada …
Pity it won’t get the Russian navy 🙂 in the Black sea.
Yep
Very true, Harry.
I remember a few years back (~2006) being sat in the departure lounge of an airport casually flicking through the newspaper. It suddenly occurred to me that I’d read numerous stories relating to weather records being broken or fruits and plants growing at unprecedented times. I flicked back through the paper and counted six such stories, and that was just on one particular day! The weather isn’t the Olympics, the point isn’t to keep breaking records. When records are consistently broken it’s because the weather is changing, a phenomenon that is unlikely to end well.
The end is nigh 🙂 well not just yet 🙂
Yes, the weather pattern has changed, even in remote place like India. When we learnt about Britain and USA bad weather , we thought “oh so far away”. But, now in start of summer we have unseasonal hailstorms destroying our standing crops. Sad indeed.
We always here about the bad weather in India and places near to there and you do get it very bad at times.
