Olympic Sports

“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.”
– Pierre de Coubertin (primarily responsible for the revival of the Olympic Games in 1894)

All information from Top End Sports.

When i watch the Olympics in the summer i will enjoy most the sports, but there are a few which i think have a very tiny following and should not be in the Olympics.

The first one is handball, i have never seen this on TV or advertised about a game taking place. It seems its only coverage is during the Olympics. I would remove, how about you ?

The second one is synchronized swimming , i do not think this is a sport at all. A team of girls dancing in the pool, how many people watch or support it, the girls could use their talents in another sport. What do you think ?

Water polo , teams swimming with a ball and trying to put it into a net, exciting i don’t think, what’s your opinion ?

In the  Equestrian events the most boring of the three must be the  Dressage section, the rider does not move a muscle and the horse and rider go around a square  for two minutes please get rid of it, what do you think ?

Any other sports you would exclude from the Olympics.

  1. Weight lifting. Ugh! All that obscene grunting and sweatiness. And the women look awful IMO. 🙂

  2. All swimming bore me. They seem to have so many events and styles and becomes boring.Just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on…you know what I mean..

  3. Hey Brother…Yeah I been just …selling guitars lately…and of course getting my “Licks” in till a buyer comes along….
As an American, you guessed it…I find it hard to get too excited about the Olympics too…seeing as our Olympic Uniforms are: “Made in China”
    Loveyameanit…gotta go…

“Where’s one of those quick click snickering Smiley faces when ya need it?”

  4. sounds like you don’t enjoy swimming then?

  5. I like Handball Harry!

  6. I always think of Ester Williams when I see the swimming event you mentioned. I can’t understand the need for water polo. It would be more interesting if they actually had horses. It’s like curling in the winter Olympics–who plays and who cares?

  7. I have always wondered what their practices are like and how much they practice:)
