Controversial Saturday: Rape.

India has one of the worlds worst annual rate of rape cases and very few of the men are ever brought before the courts. The one’s that are usually get of on technicalities.

Campaigners in India are calling for tougher penalties for sex offenders after a massive rise in the number of rapes.

According to the latest government figures, a woman is now raped in India every 20 minutes.

But despite the increase in sex attacks the number of convictions is falling.

In the last 12 months, there have been a number of high profile cases which have caused outrage across the nation.

The list of mass shootings and the number of dead are truly shocking in a country which believes that everyone and anyone is free and should be able to own and carry a weapon.

Feb. 21: Norcross, Ga.                        4 dead, shooter dead.

Feb. 27: Chardon, Ohio                      3 Dead, 2 injured.

March 8: Pittsburgh                           1 dead, shooter dead, 7 injured.

April 2: Oakland                                  7 dead, 3 injured.

April 6: Tulsa                                        3 dead, 2 injured.

Uganda’s anti-gay death law going through Parliament.

Pope Benedict XVI has given blessings to Uganda Parliament Speaker Rebecca Kadaga during a mass attended by thousands of pilgrims at the Vatican.

Kadaga who led a delegation of Ugandan legislators to the Vatican expressed delight at meeting the Pope and visiting St Peter’s Basilicca.

School Shooting in America

Yet another mass shooting in America of innocent people, the second shooting in one week. This one is the second worst shooting in America’s history 27 dead and a few injured, but the worst ever mass school shooting.

It took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, Newtown, Connecticut.  A total of 20 children the headmaster and other adults, the shooter killed himself, he was named as 20 year old Ryan Lanza.
